Sudan
I felt privileged to meet a pastor from Sudan last week. He said so many things which I had never heard before. Apparently, for 20 years Christians were being systematically killed in Southern Sudan. He and his pastor friends said to other believers "it's only blood". Not to minimize the deaths of other believers, but to say, we are not afraid of death. We will continue our weak despite the continual harrassment by officials. His testimony can only be described as God in action. What political leaders mean for evil, is being used in an awesome way. For instance, in a city whose name i forgot, there were 16 churches. The officials decided to bulldoze them in order to scatter the church. Well it worked quite well. As churches were destroyed, 4 or 5 would spring up to replace them. Within 10 years, 16 churches had grown to 400. The officials were stunned to realize that instead of destroying the church, their bulldozing campaign actually helped it grow! I am so excited to have the opportunity to be involved with some families that are living in the SD area who are from Sudan! The opportunity just walked up to me. How amazing is that?
